Cart definition and principles

Definition

A basket stores a search result at a given time and, depending on the type of basket, allows the same function to be used for that result.
For example, print out all the labels for the bottles found with a single click.

Carts are available to all users.

The number of carts is unlimited.

Carts are available at any time on the entire platform via the Carts Menu in the top left-hand corner of the screen.
The active cart is the last cart used. It is displayed by default.

A daily basket with the current date is displayed, so you can use the basket function at any time.

An unused default basket will not be saved in the basket list if it contains no items when the date changes.

Principles

The contents of a basket do not vary, unless the owner intervenes. There are no updates correlated with the updating of database data.

The cart can be used to retrieve information stored at an earlier date.
So renaming a cart makes it easier to find later. Selecting it will automatically display its contents, in the order in which they were added.

You can add items to carts that are independent of each other.

Adding elements to existing elements adds them together, not replaces them.
The cart is the image of a search result at a given moment: so deleting items from the database doesn’t remove them from the cart where they were added.

Cart results can be used as additional filters and proposed as such in modules (see Cross-referencing searches with the cart).

Depending on the modules deployed and the options activated by the administrator, you can add:

Products (see Use cart on products)
Cart option on product sheets
Uses (see Using the cart on uses)
Cart option on uses
Substances
Cart option on Substances

And, provided that the Inventory Management module is deployed:

Flasks (see Using the cart on flasks)
Cart option on flasks
Batches

Intrinsic cart functions

All carts offer the following functions for each element:

View cart contents (see products, see flasks, see uses…)
Remove from cart to empty its contents

Cart Management

Hovering over the current cart’s name displays the complete list of created carts and the associated management functions.

Create a new cart

– Cart Menu > New Cart

By naming the carts explicitly, it’s easier to distinguish them. It also allows for creating multiple carts per day if necessary.
By default, the last used cart (active cart) is displayed in the top menu.

Fill the cart

In a search window where the cart is available and/or activated:
– you can Add All search results to the cart using the links available at the top and bottom of each table.
– select result by result by ticking in the Cart column on each result line.

Display the list of carts

– Cart Menu > List of Carts

The list of carts displays all created carts and their contents.

You can archive a cart that is no longer in use.

By default, the list only displays active carts. The archived cart and its content can be reactivated at any time.

You can also delete the cart, which permanently deletes its content.
Items contained in a cart can be added to the active cart by clicking on

Switch carts

– Cart Menu > Cart Name

Select the desired cart’s name from the list to change the active cart.

Exit the cart function

To stop working on the content of a cart:
Click on Reset Search to fully refresh the search window.

Use the cart on products

– Applications Menu > Chemicals > Products

The product search window appears.

1. Add the desired products from the list to the cart.

2. In the hover menu of the No. of products in the cart (depending on the modules available on the platform and the options activated), it is possible to:

Clearing up ICPE ambiguities
Create stock monitors
Merge duplicate products
Print reconditioning labels
Remove from cart

Use the cart on flasks

– Applications menu > Chemical Products > Inventory Management > Flasks > List of Flasks

1. Add the desired flasks to the cart from the list.

2. When hovering over the Number of Flasks in the cart (depending on the modules available on the platform and the activated options), it is possible to:

Print Labels: print all labels of the flasks added to the cart
Dispose of Flasks: dispose of all flasks placed in the cart
The products remain displayed in the cart after their disposal and are visible if the option to display disposed flasks is selected in the search window
Move Flasks: move all flasks placed in the cart to the same location
Remove from Cart: empty the cart

Use the cart on locations

Prerequisite
– The Cart for Locations option must be activated.
(see Activate an option)

– Applications menu > Chemical Products > Locations

The location search window is displayed.

1. Add the desired locations to the cart from the list.
2. When hovering over the Number of Locations in the cart (depending on the modules available on the platform and the activated options), you can:

View Locations: Displays the list of locations.
Print Labels: Allows you to reprint labels for all types and levels of locations (room, cabinet, shelf, retention bins, etc.) in a single click.
Remove from Cart: Empties the cart of locations.

Use the cart on uses

Prerequisite
The Cart for Uses option must be activated.
(see Activate an option)

Depending on the modules available on the platform and the activated options, it is possible to conduct a chemical risk assessment identical to all the uses placed in the cart.

– Applications menu > Chemical Products > Risk Analysis > Uses and Risks

The search window for uses is displayed.

1. Add the desired uses to the cart from the list.

2. In the menu, when hovering over the Number of Uses in the cart (depending on the modules available on the platform and the activated options), it is possible to:

View Uses: The search window for uses is displayed.
Edit Uses
Add Authorized Persons
Declare an Exposure
Remove from Cart: Empties the locations from the cart.

Cross-referencing searches with the cart

The cart allows you to use its content as a search criterion in another search window.

Examples of Cross-Searches

Search for flasks with the products from the cart sorted by their hazard statement
Search for products in reserve
Search for uses involving CMRs (Carcinogenic, Mutagenic or toxic for Reproduction)
Search for products containing endocrine disruptors

Example of Conducting a Cross-Search

Example:
the goal is to identify the products containing endocrine disruptors in the refrigerators (subject to the deployment of modules and activation of the necessary options)

Create the cart “Endocrine Disruptors in Fridges”
1. In the List of Locations, select Refrigerator in the location type.
2. Launch the search.
3. Add all the results to the cart.
4. In the List of Substances, select endocrine disruptors.
5. Perform the search.
6. Add everything to the cart.
7. In the List of Products, check the boxes Filter with the locations from the cart and Filter with the substances from the cart.
8. Perform the search to obtain the products containing endocrine-disrupting substances stored in the refrigerators.
